Why we like it:

The Enforcer 89 is one of those skis that makes a strong skier feel like a better skier. Lay it on edge and it grips with race-bred authority; pull it back and it transitions cleanly without complaint. The narrower waist makes it feel agile in a way the wider Enforcers can't, and the Pulse Core damping smooths out everything you cross on a hard-snow day.

Who it's for:

Advanced and expert skiers whose skiing tilts heavily toward groomers and firm snow. If you spend most of your days on cord and only occasionally venture off-trail, the Enforcer 89 is an ideal choice. Casual skiers will find it more demanding than they need.

Highlights:

Quick edge-to-edge response is what the Enforcer 89 does better than any other ski in its family. Underfoot, the construction is the family signature: a poplar and beech core, two sheets of titanal, and the Pulse Core elastomer embedded between the upper metal sheet and the wood for damping. Nordica's True Tip approach in the shovel keeps the wood core running closer to the ski's end, with the ABS plastic trimmed back; the result is a quicker, more responsive feel through turn initiation. Dimensions at the 179 measure 122.5-89-110.5 with a 17.5-meter turn radius, which is mid-range for a frontside-biased all-mountain ski. The All-Mountain Rocker profile is gentler here than on the wider Enforcers, with a shorter tip rocker that keeps more of the edge engaged with the snow. That choice is what gives the 89 its hard-snow edge grip and is also what makes it feel less forgiving than the 94 or 99 when conditions go soft.

Things to consider:

The Enforcer 89 is the most frontside-focused ski in the line, which means it's the least suited to soft snow. Skiers who see deep snow more than a handful of days a season should look at the 94 or wider. Also, this ski has a high performance ceiling and rewards strong technique; it's not the easiest learning ski in this width range.
